What is Dungeons and Taverns?
A structure mod for Minecraft: Java Edition, built for Fabric. It adds 40 vanilla-style structures, from roadside wells and firewatch towers to megastructures that take an evening to clear, plus 17 enchantments that exist only as structure loot.
Everything is designed to look like it shipped with the game, so nothing in it feels out of place next to a village or a shipwreck.
Which Minecraft versions are supported?
Every Minecraft: Java Edition release from 1.21 through 26.2, which covers the whole 1.21 series and the 26.x releases. The current release is 5.3.0. It is Java Edition only, so there is no Bedrock version.
Which build do I need?
One that matches the exact Minecraft version you play. Pick your version from the dropdown on the download page and the button hands you the right jar.
This is the single most common setup mistake. A build made for 1.21.4 will not load on 1.21.8, and none of them will load on a vanilla profile without Fabric.
Does it work in multiplayer and on servers?
Yes. Put the jar in the mods folder of a Fabric server and every player exploring will find the structures.
Players who install the same build on their own machine also get the custom item textures for keys and charts. The install guide walks through server setup.
Can I add it to an existing world?
Yes. Structures only generate in newly created chunks, so everything you have already built and explored stays untouched. Head past your usual borders and the new content starts appearing.
How do I find the structures?
The intended way is to find a tavern and befriend its cartographer, which the next question covers. Many structures also chain into each other. An Illager Camp holds a chart to a pillager outpost, a Piglin Camp starts a trail that ends at the Piglin Donjon, and so on.
The fast way, if cheats are on: /locate structure nova_structures: then tab through the autocomplete list. The full catalog is in the structure guide.
How do I unlock the treasure maps at a tavern?
Trade with the villager inside a tavern and level them up to Apprentice while they are inside the tavern, which turns them into a Tavern Cartographer. From then on you can move them wherever you like and keep leveling them up to unlock new charts.
Do I need any other mods to run it?
Just Fabric Loader for your Minecraft version. Dungeons and Taverns brings its own structures, loot tables, enchantments and textures, so there is nothing else to install.
Why do I not see the custom key item textures?
The mod loads its own textures, so missing icons normally point at a broken download. Delete the jar, grab it again from the download page, and check that your browser did not unzip it along the way.
Is it compatible with Terralith and other worldgen mods?
Generally yes. DnT adds its own structures without replacing vanilla worldgen, and it is widely run alongside biome packs and other structure mods in big modpacks. If you hit a specific conflict, the Discord is the fastest place to check.
Can I use it in my modpack or video?
Videos and screenshots are fine, and a credit link back to this site is appreciated.
For modpacks, DnT is distributed under an all rights reserved license, so ask on the official Discord before redistributing it.
Where should I download it from?
Only from this website, which is the official home of the project. Every build is published by the DnT team on the download page. Files hosted anywhere else are not ours and may be unsafe.
